Design fascinates me as an elegant way to solve problems and help people meet their needs. I have been a graphic designer since 2013 when I began designing layouts for museum exhibition panels. Since then I have designed flyers, posters, logos, catalogs, business cards, and many other forms of digital and print materials. In 2019, when taking classes for my Graphic Design certificate, I took my first HTML/CSS class and fell in love with web design.
I've been writing for as long as I remember, starting with handwritten mysteries and angsty journal entries from a young age. In addition to design, I see the written word as another medium for artistic and human expression, but also as an important transmitter of information. I am skilled at adapting the tone, style, and length of my writing to the needs of the audience. I have written academic papers, poetry, website copy, blog and social media content, museum exhibition labels, print marketing copy, fiction, and more.
Singing is a way for me to express myself and to bring joy to others. In college, I had the privilege of singing with the Radcliffe Choral Society, a 65-voice all-women choir. Since then, I enjoyed a stint in Choral Sounds NW and have performed at weddings by request. These days, I mostly sing in the car or at karaoke night, but I am looking to collaborate with other musicians in a performing capacity.
Volleyball has been my passion since 2000, when I joined my first team. I played competitive volleyball all through high school, then in my graduate studies at the University of Washington I played on their intercollegiate club volleyball team. I have been playing in adult leagues and tournaments in the Seattle area since 2014 as a right side hitter. I have also coached youth volleyball at Hazen High School, Ridge Valley Volleyball Club, and Island Thunder Volleyball Club.
I consider myself to be a lifelong learner, and I gravitate to creative pursuits. In my free time I dabble in painting, drawing, needlework, videography, music, and whatever else sparks my curiosity.
